Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) in collaboration with High Commission of India, Dhaka has organized a day long Blood Donation Camp on 20 July 2012. The event is held at Indira Ghandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC), Dhaka at Gulshan from 10am to 6pm. Overall assistance has been provided by International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).
Hon’ble High Commissioner of India Mr. Pankaj Saran has inaugurated the blood donation camp. Prof. Dr. Syed Modasser Ali, Hon'ble Adviser to Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh on Health, Family & Social Welfare and Prof. Dr. M. S. Akbar, MP, Hon’ble Chairman of BDRCS have joined as the special guest. Mr. Udaya Kumar Regmi, HoD of IFRC, Bangladesh Delegation has also attended the camp. Personnel from Indian High Comission, IFRC, BDRCS and people from all walks of life have participated at that time.
The blood donation camp has been arranged to promote blood donors as the demand for blood is increasing in Bangladesh and to help the people in need of blood for survival. A number of Bangladeshi and Indian nationals along with other nationals have donated blood during this camp.
