RC/RC movement started with concept of medical services during war, which later expanded to total health. In accordance with this spirit and mandate of BDRCS, following activities are being conducted to reduce health related vulnerability of the mass people.

-Firstly Maternal & Child Health centers (MCH) in rural areas were established to provide service to the vulnerable women & children for safe motherhood. At present we have 57 MCH centers in 27 districts which we intend to increase in number so that maternal & child health care reach to many more.
-24 hours community-managed Primary health care is Provided with the support from GRC till 2010. Aim is to all become self sustainable by 2015.
-Number of catchment population 10,00,000 (approx. 1million). In a year average Normal Delivery-5000, ANC-20,000, PNC-5000 and general patient treated more than 100,000.
-Referral, lateral linkage, Family Planning support given to the clients.
-Income Generating Activities (IGA) in the catchment population based in MCH centre helps in financial sustainability of the centre.
-Mobilization & motivation of the community done to get the service at minimum 3 taka , 200 taka per normal delivery & medicine purchase at par which also help in financial sustainability of the centre.
-To reduce smoke related respiratory disease and to prevent deforestation, environment friendly stove installation in the community started with the help of German Technical Co.(GTZ).
-With the help of GoB pilot nutrition programme in some MCH centre started.
