Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Anjuman Mofidul Islam to work in a coordinated manner to provide humanitarian assistance to those who are affected due to the impact of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
BDRCS Secretary General M Firoz Salahuddin and executive director of Anjuman Mofidul Islam AM Bodruddoza signed the MoU on Tuesday on behalf of their respective sides at the Society's board room in the city, said a press release, reports BSS.
The main objective of signing of this MoU is to work in an integrated manner by the two organizations to provide humanitarian assistance to the COVID-19 affected people in the country.
BDRCS Chairman Hafiz Ahmed Majumder, MP, Society Vice Chairman and IFRC Governing Board member Habibe Millat, MP, Treasurer Lutfor Rahman Chowdhury Helal, Anjuman Mofidul Islam Joint Director ASM Shahin Reza and other high officials were present on the occasion.
According to the MoU, the society will jointly conduct the operations with the Anjuman Mofidul Islam to provide humanitarian assistance to the affected people.
As part of the assistance, the society will provide body bags to Anjuman Mofidul Islam for carrying dead bodies, take necessary measures for imparting training to the Anjuman Mofidul Islam workers and volunteers who are carrying bodies and provide disinfectant spray machines and chemicals to them.
BDRCS Secretary General M Firoz Salahuddin said they would work jointly with the Anjuman Mofidul Islam to provide assistance to the affected people and their families.
