DDM under MoDR, BDRCS and IFRC signed tri-partity MoU today

Today 27 July 2017, the Department of Disaster Management (DDM) under the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDR), People's Republic of Bangladesh; the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society(BDRCS) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) have signed a tri-partite memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding implementation of training on strengthening capacity of crisis responders on addressing mental health issues within crisis preparedness and management in Bangladesh.

This will allow pool of trainer to train the volunteers and emergency response or crisis management professionals to achieve the effective and efficient response during the crisis by managing their own mental health issues. This collaboration will be helpful to avail quality service delivery for vulnerable people.

Following the signing of this MoU, the DDM is going to organize a training of trainers (ToT) during 2 - 7 August 2017 in collaboration with Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) and Shuchona Foundation with the support of BDRCS, IFRC and American Red Cross.

During this MoU signing ceremony, the Secretary General of BDRCS Mr. BMM Mozharul Huq, ndc; Md. Harun-or-Rashid Mollah, Joint Secretary, Director (Research & Training), DDM; Ms. Rahima Akter, Deputy Secretary, Deputy Director (Research), DDM and other representatives - Ms. Sayma Ferdowsy, Deputy Director, BDRCS; Mr. Shahinur Rahman, Junior Assistant Director, BDRCS were present.
