SEU textile club donates 100 units of blood to Red Crescent today

Today Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) Blood Programme and Textile Club, South East University jointly organized a `Blood Donation Programme’ at South East University, Tejgaon Campus, Dhaka. In today’s programme, 100 units of blood has been collected for free

Prof. Dr ANM Meshkat Uddin, Vice Chancellor South East University was present on the occasion as of the inaugural ceremony. Along with him Mr. M Kamal Uddin Chowdhury, Honorable Member, SEU Trust was also present as Chief Guest. Advocate Tauhidur Rahman, Treasurer and Chairperson, Central Management Committee of Blood Programme, BDRCS, was present on the occasion as special guest.

Moderator of the Textile Club, Dr. Arun Kanti Guha, Associate Professor, South East University has delivered the welcome speech on the occasion. Dr. Md. Tarik Mehedi, Director (In charge) was also present on the occasion.

The Chief Guest of the ceremony Mr. M Kamal Uddin Chowdhury has expressed his gratitude to the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society for organizing this blood donation programme with them. He says ` We hope the spirit of collaborations and cooperation’s between Bangladesh Red Crescent and South East University will be continued and that will help us to meet the huge demand of blood in Bangladesh.’

While delivering the speech of special guest, Advocate Tauhidur Rahman, Treasurer and Chairperson, Central Management Committee of Blood Programme, BDRCS asked the South East University to arrange this type of blood donating programme every year at a 6 month arrival. He also congratulates all the donors saying ` Whatever the reason is, the need is constant in Bangladesh and your (donors) contribution to the Bangladesh Red Crescent is important for a healthy and reliable blood supply. And you’ll feel good knowing you’ve helped change a life’.

It is mentionable that, till November 2017, BDRCS Blood programme has collected total 60,385 units of blood through its 8 Red Crescent blood centers in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Jessore, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Nator, Magura and a sub-center of Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital in Dhaka. Among them 24,152 units of blood has been collected from blood donors for free.
